L'ANARCHICO CHE VENNE DALL'AMERICA

di Arrigo Petacco

29 luglio 1900 : Umberto I è ucciso a Monza. Da chi? Come? Perchè? La prima biografia di Gaetano Bresci.

Quando uscì per la prima volta nel 1969, L'anarchico che venne dall'America fu subito un best-seller. Fino a quel momento non esistevano studi circostanziati su Gaetano Brescia and the dramatic gesture of the protest made by him at Monza July 29, 1900.

But this book is not only the first and only reconstruction of the attack which cost the lives of Umberto I, is also the first investigation on the background and motives of the "gesture" and the first biography of the textile worker in Prato Gaetano Bresci, an individualist anarchist (as he called himself then), all of whom, including his fellow members, seemed to have forgotten. Written by a well-known journalist, the book is reprinted with the addition of new news and shocking revelations (for example, the individualist Bresci was not just that day at Monza) and old anarchists in Italy and America have sent to the author.

available in the library - 4 €
